MATCH REPORT | HALIFAX PANTHERS

Read our Match Report from the defeat to Halifax Panthers at the Shay Stadium on Sunday.

Bradford couldn’t deal with the Panthers pressure early on, as a flurry of early tries saw the home side in front.

Former Bull Joe Keyes dummied and went through the Bradford line to open the scoring, with Will Calcott following up soon after with his own score after an error saw the ball find its way into his hands.

The pressure continued as an error saw Halifax awarded a scrum, with the home side floating the ball out wide to James Saltonstall who crossed in the corner.

As the half went on, we found ourselves with more field position and we made it pay, George Flanagan spun over, pushing Ed Barber out of the way on the line for our first points.

He was then involved again, as his grubber kick through saw Samy Kibula touch down after he returned to the team and made an impressive start.

Brad England was then sin-binned with seconds to go, and Halifax made the extra man count as Lachlan Walmsley scored in the corner to extend the home sides lead going into the break.

After the break, Halifax never looked back as they took a stranglehold on proceedings starting with an early try from James Saltonstall, who grabbed his second.

Marcus Green, who was also introduced had an impressive first team debut, with a number of strong carries into the Halifax defence.

Chester Butler grabbed a try, to reduce the scores for a moment, but the Halifax scores came again soon after.

Joe Keyes, kicked through and Lachlan Walmsley raced through the Bradford defence for his second.

Before the hooter, Dan Murray looked short on his crash over attempt, but the try was awarded nevertheless and Halifax ran out winners, with our boys never giving up throughout.
